light, emerging
Dawn, your promises of
all of those things which are new;
Colors banish the dark;
in your clear piercing gaze,
glowing shards that cut through me
and the sun that ascends
this horizon still longing for light
flames of crimson and gold
you'll unfurl carmine wings in a sky
taking flight into sleep's cobalt blue
you whose sight will return
waves of life rushing yet to my soul
your warm touch the caress of the one
who will find me still cold and alone
just the way dusk had left me
over a long night ago...
